League Update: Leicester vs North Devon

Yesterday the Leicester Eagles defeated the North Devon Dogs in a close fought game in Devon. The final score was 32-29 to the Eagles. It's an interesting result, as Leicester have historically been one of our more challenging opponents. Judging by yesterday's performance, they're going to be in the thick of it again this year. The biggest loss for the Dogs yesterday, might not have been the game, but the loss of Johnny Stevenson to injury. Apparently Johnny was involved in an accidental collision that left him with a double nose bleed, a perforated ear drum and a dislocated shoulder. There is no word on how long he will be out, but there is a chance his season - and potentially his playing career - is over. We wish Johnny…

Friendly vs the Dogs

Thank you and well done to all the players who travelled to Tidworth today to take on the Dogs in a couple of friendlies. The outcome was 2-0 to the Sharks, with an incredibly close first game ending 28-27, followed by a 47-7 second game. It was good to see the team respond from being behind in the first game, starting our final drive at our 5 with 19 seconds left in the game. Some great passing from Neil and equally great hands from the receivers, resulted in a TD with just seconds left. Rather than settle with the tie, we went for 2 and the win - which we got! Players today were: Neil, Dayle, Dave, Gary, Toby, Sean and Josh. Johnny, if you're reading this, I hope your…

Update: Results & Tables

Both the results and league tables have now been updated to reflect our recent games and other league activity. The Sharks (5-1) are looking strong in the English Conference following our recent two wins, with only Mildenhall and Coventry ahead of us by merit of winning percentage (both 2-0). The competition in Scotland is looking fierce, with Kirkcaldy (5-0) and Carluke (5-1) leading the pack. Leicester and Glasgow (Tigers) have both yet to play a game.

NFL Tickets for Wembley, London

NFL Tickets for London on Sale! If you were smart, a few month's ago upon hearing the news that Wembley is to host another NFL game during the 2008 season, you would have registered your interest for tickets with NFLUK.com. Today, following a random lottery draw, the NFL announced that a few thousand lucky registrants have been informed that they are able to buy a maximum of 4 tickets next Thursday to see the NFL game at Wembley. I'm one of the those lucky few - as is Neil :) Did anyone else get the chance to buy NFL tickets to see the San Diego Chargers play the New Orleans Saints at Wembley, London in October?

Devon Game Film

Here is the first video from Devon - our victory over the St. Albans Kings. Kings Part 1 Kings Part 2 I'd forgotten about Ric's endzone dance...it's something 'special'. And here is the film from the Devon game. Unfortunately, there is a bit where part of a drive is missing as the battery ran out. By the time a new battery was in, we'd scored - and it was my score that was missing! Dogs Part 1 Dogs Part 2 There are many great plays in both videos - on O and D - so well worth taking a few minutes to watch. I'll be updating league tables shortly, plus compiling the leading scorers table.

Sharks Win Wild West Shoot Out

There were touchdowns aplenty in Devon on Sunday, as the Sharks took on and defeated both the St. Albans Kings and the North Devon Dogs. There were 222 points scored in just 3 matches with an average of 74 points a game - which is just incredible. Well done to all the Sharks that went on Sunday, it was an awesome team effort, especially considering the heat. The final results were as follows: Sharks 61 - 0 Kings Dogs 100 - 6 Kings Sharks 43 - 12 Dogs Dayle had set us the target of two shut outs to aim for and whilst we didn't quite achieve that we came very close - to concede 2 scores against the Dogs after watching them rack up 100 points against the Kings…

Sharks Go West

This Sunday sees the Chichester Sharks travel to the West Country to face long time rivals, the North Devon Dogs and newcomers, the St. Albans Kings. This weekend will see the teams against each other for the first time in the new BAFL Flag league. It will also be the Dogs opening game of the season. The Kings are in their inaugural season and currently sit at the foot of the league table with an 0-2 record, including a 33-6 defeat at the hands of the Sharks on opening weekend. Results Tables Updated

I've updated the league tables following a number of games in Scotland this past weekend. The results are as follows: Aberdeen 25 - 27 Dundee East Kilbride 19 - 35 Aberdeen East Kilbride 25 - 33 Dundee Aberdeen 25 - 20 East Kilbride Lanarkshire 39 - 33 Glasgow Hornets Looking at the table below, the early front runners in Scotland are the Kirkcaldy Bulls - one of the strongest British teams of recent years. They have got off to a cracking start, averaging 50 points a game on Offense! In England, Mildenhall are matching the Bulls pace, closely followed by our very own Sharks! We're currently averaging around about 40 points, whilst only conceding 10. A great start and something that we can hopefully build on throughout the rest of…
