Sharks Gear

Two quick questions:1) All you rookies and returnees - do you want a Sharks gameshirt?2) Is anyone interested in buying Chichester Sharks t-shirts, hoodies, caps, bags, etc? If there is enough interest for either question, I'll look into it for you. I don't need to know definites at the moment, just if you're interested.Post your answers below or tell me Sunday. Cheers All :)

Chichester Tournament Review

In case anyone didn't notice Sunday, it rained a bit. And it was bloody cold. But who the hell cares?! The Sharks are back with a vengence! After a slow start to the 2006 campaign (4-4), the Sharks bit back, going undefeated on the day, posting a tournament best record of 3-0-1. The results now move the Sharks back into Final Four contention for the league title at years end. The death of the Sharks was greatly exaggerated as we not only topped the table on the day but we were able to enter two teams due to expanding numbers. And thus the Thespians were reborn! The Thespians Considering the rookies had only trained for 2 or 3 weeks they did a bloody good job. They may have gone winless…

Our rookies have gamely thrown their proverbial hats into the ring by entering into next Sunday's ESFL tournament in Chichester. That now makes 10 teams taking part:Chichester SharksLondon LibertyTeam VoodooBabariansNorth Devon DogsBournemouth RaidersBrighton TsunamiLeicester EaglesEastbourne CrusadersChichester ThespiansAssuming all teams turn up, we'll split the teams into 2 groups, with four group matches for each team. Ruislip Report

The Sharks fortunes at last weekend's Ruislip tournament were as about as mixed as the weather. Blazing sunshine one minute, torrential downpour the next. After a bit of frantic last minute encouragement (harassment in some cases!), we were able to draw together a team of 9 players. The starting O was intact, but due to injuries and other commitments the starting D was a little decimated. We were lucky enough to welcome back some familiar faces - Jon, Matt, Sam and Jut - and considering they'd not played together for quite a while, they did a good job as our new defense. We should have known what kind of day it was going to be when we lost a third of our team on the A27 - 5 minutes into our journey. The…

Ruislip Tournament 9th April

Hi AllThis sunday we'll be travelling to Ruislip near London for a tournament hosted by the London Liberty (formerly UA).Kick-off is at 11am. The journey takes about an hour and a half, depending on traffic so I suggest we depart the usual car park at 8.30am.Here is a map of where we need to end up.I suggest however, we head up in convoy. Neil, I guess you're driving? And Matt volunteered too - will your car make it with 4 passengers? Is anyone else coming that hasn't told me yet? We have 7 players but it would be good to have more. For those that are coming, bring a dark game shirt plus a few quid for the referees (this is not a bribe, just paying for their efforts!).See you all Sunday…

Next 2 Weekends Update

Right, a few changes to the plans.Unfortunately, Brighton are unable to get a side together for a scrimmage this Saturday so the game has been postponed to a later date.Consequently, this late change has meant we cannot switch days and hold training on the Sunday. This is because a number of people already made plans that cannot be changed at late notice.OK, so when are we playing next?Don't worry, the next game is next Sunday. The tournie at Ruislip - home to the newly named London Liberty (formerly UA).During the coming week I'll post up travel details (any volunteers for drivers - need 2) once the kickoff time is established.Players committed so far:NeilPeteJPBenMeJutMattC'mon, who else is up for it?
