Sharks backing the Save St. Richards Campaign

Mr Kirby's trip to A & E during the Finals, earned the Sharks a mention on the Chichester Observer website this week. We're quite lucky that we have such an excellent hospital nearby - evident by how quick they responded once we called Dayle's injury in. It would be such a shame to lose its services, so if you can, please show your support.

Chichester Sharks – 2007 English National Champions

Wow.Where do I start? How about with 'YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!'I think that nicely sums up what, at least for me, was one of the best tournament performances - EVER - for Chichester flag football. Two comeback victories from 2 scores down in both the semis and final, gave the Sharks their 2nd National Championship. I'm still stunned and not entirely sure how it happened.Let's take a step back first. The day started with a round robin tournament to fullfil the qualifying criteria for the Leicester Eagles and Mildenhall Mayhem. Except Mayhem didn't turn up... again. We beat the Eagles and lost to the Voodoo, but it was obvious that all three teams were saving the good stuff for the games that really mattered. On the day, the Sharks squad featured Neil Henderson, Pete Steel,…

The final tournament of 2007 will be held this Sunday in Chichester. The venue is our usual training ground and kickoff is 11 a.m.We had hoped to arrange a venue with changing facilities, but despite lots of last minute ringing around we were unable to sort something.I will be in touch with each of you today to find out your availability for Sunday - please reply by text or post your intention here in the comments.Subject to the number of teams attending there may be some qualifying games for some teams to start the day, but Chichester have a bye to the Semi-finals by merit of finishing with the 2nd best qualifying record.Hope to see you all there :)

England vs Wales – No training this weekend

This weekend Team England are playing a friendly against Wales in Cardiff. It is part of the development programme, to give experience to the new expanded England squad. Chichester are well represented with Team England, with a good number travelling this weekend. The downside of this is we're left with limited numbers for training on Sunday, so we've decided to take this weekend off - so no training. It's been quite some time since we've missed a Sunday, so that'll be weird! Good luck to all the guys playing this weekend. The following weekend is scheduled to be the Finals tournament. We are currently trying to organise a venue after a late change of plans. More details to come soon.

Chichester Pigskin Pick’em – Week 1

Following a wild opening weekend of the 2007 season - a weekend with many upsets (that's my excuse anyway) - here is the league table of Chichester Sharks & Makos pickers. The top spot is shared by Billy Bromley and Jon Steele-Mills, who somehow managed to predict 12 out of 16 matchups correctly. A fluke I say! I think there must have been a technical error along the way as I seem to have only managed to score 9. I'm sure that will be rectified Week 2!1. Billy 12/161. Jon 12/163. Neil 11/163. Shaun 11/163. Steve 11/166. Billy2 10/167. Gary 9/168. Matt 8/168. Thierry 8/16There are no early games this week, so guys, remember to get your picks in before kickoff on Sunday.
