Many of you will remember Matt from previous seasons with the Sharks and will be aware that he is now playing kitted football with Sussex Thunder.
This week Matt played an instrumental part in the Thunder’s win over South Conference rivals the Norwich Devils. Behind 6-0 in the first half, Matt scored a 4 yard touchdown to tie the game up. Thunder never lost the lead from that point and went on to win 20-6.
Read the full game report here.
The Thunder have a gap in their schedule soon, so Matt will be attempting to come down soon to join us at training.
Well done, Matt, on your season so far.
Still at least he didnt score against the sundevils…..
let’s be honest, there was not a lot of scoring from anyone in that game!
How’s the Sundevils going for you? Getting playing time?
Gary
I am playing a bit – thrown three TD’s this year – had a fade dropped against Sussex that would have gone all the way.
We should have beaten them more soundly which we will do in the next game…… tight division though – any team could win it.
I wasn’t at the Sundevils game, annoyingly that’s a game I couldn’t make even though Portsmouth is probably closer to me than Crawley! I look very happy in that photo!
Well done, Matt and Nick! 24 August should be an exciting date for everyone.
No mention of the other ex-shark who played in this game, well I said played if you can call coming on for under two minutes and giving a personal foul away as playing……..
who was that Nick?
and nick, what’s happened to the Sundevils website? It’s been suspended?!?
Mr Handley apparently Gary, how could we not have guessed!
It was Mr Handley – Late hit suprisingly enough
Not sure what has happened to the website. Last home game is on Sunday 27th July against Norwich – its at 14:30 on the 3G pitch at Wide Lane, Eastleigh.
re: Justin – don’t you have to pass a physical to play for the Sundevils???
You do at the Sundevils which is why he is playing for the Thunder…..
