For boys and girls, aged 8 – 11. Flag football is a fun sport for kids, encouraging activity and teamwork. No experience necessary.

NEW KIDS TEAM STARTING – JANUARY ’18!

The Chichester Sharks are a long established club, with a senior team competing since 2002. In 2108 we’re looking to expand our offering to include a Kids team. Initially it will be aimed at the Under 12 level, which comprises Years 4, 5 and 6. It’ll be open to boys and girls of all abilities.

If you have a child who is interested, please get in touch using the form below to register your interest. Once we have sufficient numbers interested we will be in touch to arrange the first training session.

FAQ

Who can play?

  • Both boys and girls
  • Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (min. age 8)

Who is the doing the coaching?

Our coaches are volunteers with extensive experience playing and coaching flag football. A DBS checked coach will always be running the session and certificates will be available to be viewed.

What day will training be?

Saturdays – likely in the morning. Times to be confirmed

Will it be competitive?

The aim of the training sessions will be to teach the kids the game of flag football, whilst having a lot of fun. We’ll play games during the session but the focus will be on teamwork, learning new skills and enjoying ourselves. We won’t be focusing on scores or winners, as it’s not important at this age. There may be opportunities in the future to play friendlies against other teams, for those interested, but only when the coaches feel the players are ready to do so. In the long term, we may enter a team into the British American Football Association Under 12 league, but we’ll discuss that at a later date.

What will it cost?

To be confirmed, depending on venue. It will be inexpensive, only enough to cover expenses.

What will my child need to wear?

Sportswear suitable for wearing on grass/mud! Football boots tend to be helpful in the winter. We do stipulate that no pockets are allowed, as fingers can get caught in them.
